I hate it when people compare the two. They're different, goddammit. They are two different bands, with different sounds. They drew inspiration from the same places, and then moved it two different places. Ugh. I'll take my music snob hat off now.12 years ago

Epic performance. In irony, the band's most popular record "One Simple Word", marked a distinct change in the band's sound. It's a rock record, a damn good one, but lacked the pop folk mysticism of the first two records. Had the Connells continued on that course they could have given REM a run for their money.12 years ago
