Exodus blew and Kreator was ok. Testament was great.

I think Dark Angel is much better than Kreator.

I was at this gig. If you look in the closing credits, it says Drum Tech - Spence. I used to drink in the Bushranger in Goldhawk Road, Shepherds Bush, and Spence used to drink in there. A right ugly dude but nice and also fucking funny!!

@paulcuzcousins1 the beggining of the song is Older than time itself, then they continue with Leave scars lyrics genius. Pay attention to the beggining, they always did like a medley before starting a concert

@phirefish Ive actually seen some Jim footage, search Dark Angel live in Baltimore, MA (the guy who posted put MA instead of MD). I'm not sure if it was the whole show but it was pretty cool footage.

I had an album called Live Scars back in the day, way before the You Tube. I think it was Dark Angel performing live at the Country Club. This production quality is better though. I never saw them live, so it is nice to match the images with the sound. Thanks for the post.

@thiefgarr Grunge wasn't really a threat to anything until Nirvana & Alice in Chains broke which was around 1991. So in 1989 Dark Angel could have done really well but there were a few problems. The production on Leave Scars was pretty bad, not bad enough to ruin the album, but it probably held them back. Also, Dark Angel were too fast and heavy for their own good. Death Metal hadn't really caught on, and since DA were pretty much heavier than anyone else they had trouble getting tours.

I like Ron Rinehart's vocals than Don Dotty. The problem with the Leave Scars album is it came out at the tail end of metal's heyday (1989), it's when grunge was begginning to take over. Leave scars is a culmination of all the best influences in thrash, black metal, grindcore, death metal etc. Even Death of Innocence sounds similar to angel of death including its arrangement. From the mid 90's metal has dwindled. It's funny, Metal music to me these days sounds like "old" 80s music now
