The riffing is so hypnotic & addictive, bordering on black metal, although i am yet to hear a so called "extreme underground black or death metal band" to touch such ferociously heavy metal albums likeDarkness Descends. so i don't know what people referring or comparing to black or death metal really is meant to mean.The best blackened Thrash/Death metal album ever recorded.Darkness Descends is better than Reign In Blood.9 years ago

Epidemic is one of my fave songs from that album! Piece by Piece, Criminally Insane, and Reborn is what I would call the filler Necrophobic is prittey dam average but let that one go. Angel of Death , Altar of Sacrifice, Jesus Saves, Epidemic,Postmortem and Raining Blood some of the gratest thrash songs of all time on the outher hand!10 years ago
