It evolved out of Hard-Trance and Hardcore yes,but now it is considered as an own genre,where you can divide in raw hardstyle,euphoric hardstyle or..eh..hardpop *cough Wildstylez cough* xD In the end it's all just Hardstyle,Hardcore is an own genre but both are bound very strong together but I wouldn't say it's a subgenre of HC,more an evolution out of different harder EDM genres to a complete new one (especially nowadays) :)
