Lyrics:

He holds a twisted torque in his hands,

The forests are his ruling lands.

Great God Cernunnos, return to earth again,

Come at my call and show thyself to men.

Shepherd of goats upon the wild hills way,

Lead thy lost flock from darkness unto day.

The Horned God is our nature deity,

Butt modern man would from his presence flee.

Stolen are the ways of sleep and night,

Men seek for them, whose eyes have lost the light.

Open the door, the door hath no key,

The door of dreams whereby men come to thee.

Shepherd of goats, oh answer unto me,

In the summerlands is where we shall meet thee.

The name itself is also Latinate ("Cernunnos= Cern + Uno = "Horned One"). I still feel that with everything else considered, Cernunnos is a pretty good catch-all for the antlered god of the ancient Celts. We'd probably be calling the war, sex and death goddess"Cathubodva" if Irish culture hadn't endured long enough to give us the triune figure of the Morrigan.

Cernunnos wouldn't want violence and death on his land, he would see the need to lay down our arms and make peace, and replant our forests.

Cernunnos is the conventional name given in Celtic studies to depictions of the horned god of Celtic polytheism. The name itself is only attested once,on the 1st-century Pillar of the Boatmen, but depictions of a horned or antlered figure, often seated cross-legged and often associated with animals and holding or wearing torcs, are known from other instances. Nothing is known about the god from literary sources, and details about his name, his cult or his significance in Celtic religion are unknown.

Cruachan doesn't sing ideologically, they sing about Irish culture.

Well, Jesus is a variant of the sun god, which has probably existed in one form or another for millennia, probably since the dawn of farming, when people realized their crops, and by extension all life on earth, couldn't exist without the sun. The horned god represented nature and hunting, and thus, is probably far older. In recent centuries, however it has been demonized by Christians as Baphomet.
