haha if you can afford that it's always good to buy stuff :D and I already know Arkona, music is pretty cool, but it would be great if I could understand the language :D

Yes, back on topic, the Blind Guardian songs are pretty epic, and I've bought three of their albums now (I'm that kind of person, it's bad, but oh well)! If you did like Burzum, you may like Summoning, but their vocals are a lot harsher. Arkona is a folk metal band that does songs with a mixture of harsh vocals and singing. You may want to check them out - Slavsia Rus, Stenka na Stenku or Zakliatie are good starting points.

I think i'm that kind of guy who cannot fully separate the music and it's maker, but like i said music sounds good. Anyway, I am grateful for your attention sir :D

Oh, don't worry, he is. Nazi with some weird views on Christianity? Check. Murder and arsonist? Check. But his music is cool, I think.

checked it out, music is good, vocals so-so but that Varg guy seems like a sicko to me :D

That's cool, Primordial are a good band! Burzum was one of the first black metal bands, but the guy in it drifted away from the scene after he was sent to prison for the murder of a bandmate (in another band called Mayhem). His later music is more melodic and you may like it - try Glemselens Elv, Valen, Alfadanz or Jeg Faller.

I have only heard a couple of Primordial's songs, but I think they're cool and I'm not familiar with Burzum's music at all :D Actually I kind of feel like it would be better if i liked harsh vocals, so I could enjoy bands like Eluveitie, which are really amazing but i can't stand the singing :)

I'm a pretty cool person :D I see what you mean about the vocals. It can get a bit harsh at times, especially when you decide to listen to four Darkthrone albums in a row! Do you like newer Burzum and Primordial?

And about the Offspring: among my friends there are only few guys who like them, 'cause others are either classic rock fans who say: it's just shouting with 2 chords over and over again, or metalheads who think it's a softcore pop-like crap. And there are mainstream pop-rock fans, but I don't really care about what they have to say about music :D Anyway, i am positively surprised that you even bother answering, 'cause it turned out to be a pretty cool conversation :)

I know the vocals are black metal like, but in Cruachan i actually prefer songs with female vocals or mixed ones. I like some bands with "extreme" vocals like Ensiferum for instance but it's mainly because of the music while vocals are kind of a turn-off if they are harsh in every single song :D

Hey, I haven't come across anyone who doesn't like the Offspring (who doesn't like All I Want?), it's all good! My nick comes from the name of AFI's label! To be honest, the harsh vocals in Cruachan aren't very different from harsh vocals in black metal.

haha ok dude, I'm not really a diehard power metal expert too, and I'm mostly listening to punk, post-punk and hardcore punk, but I like some folk metal bands, as well as power metal, symphonic metal and even some mainstream crap (as my nick might tell you). I personally don't really like black metal mainly because of the vocals :D i was just thinking that anyone's power metal journey begins with Blind Guardian or Helloween, good to know the world still holds some surprises for me :)

Yeah, well to be honest I don't listen to too much of the genre. What I've heard I do like, but my musical time is devoted to folk metal, post-black metal/blackgaze and 80s-90s melodic hardcore. I do really like stuff like Steel Attack and Nightwish and other bands, but I haven't really delved into the genre like I have with post-black metal (like really, who's heard of Clouds Collide?)

It's hard to believe that a power metal fan doesn't know Blind Guardian. But maybe you have approached from the Helloween side :D

I like power metal, I'll check it out.

Then check out War of the Thrones or A Voice in the Dark by Blind Guardian, both are about Song of Ice and Fire. It's power metal, not folk, but they are a truly wonderful band.

Ok, calm down, I wasn't trying to appear aggressive! I didn't know that, I thought you were one of those guys who know nothing about their history and just enjoy the folk music element. Though I'm not sure I know of a band that sings about A Song of Ice and Fire?

:D I'd say that ancient mythology put out by the different cultures beats any modern fantasy novel. Read some!
