"Whose power a scepter sways" Indeed! Randy old Henry thought his scepter held sway over the Church, and indeed God, and here are his descendants hypocritically singing the reverse. Reality check, please, royal family.

Sorry, but with due respect, Westminster Abbey belongs to the true Church of Jesus Christ, founded by that incarnate Son of God himself and guaranteed in perpetuity by virtue of the Apostolic succession via Peter, the rock upon whom that Church was built, and subsisting today and forever in the Holy Roman Catholic Church. The building was stolen by the pernicious heretic adulterer Henry and his followers. No quantity of competent singing, effete and pretentious ritual or royal posturing will change this fact. Thank you.

Just enjoy the hymn and stop bickering......sometimes a little knowledge is a divisive thing......restrain yourself from showing off your little bit of knowledge......Eh?

By the way, I forgot to say that Jesus Christ is the Eternally Begotten Son of the Father Almighty. Yes, He was anointed to become incarnate in human form to pay for the sins of all people throughout all the Universe. I truly believe in Him as the Son of The Eternal Father! He is Christ, the Son of God, eternally begotten of God the Father, as is confessed in the Nicene Creed!

May God Always Save the Queen! May God Aways save the United Kingdom! This is one of my very favorite hymns. Our Lord Jesus Christ is indeed King of Kings and Lord of Lords, anointed by The Father Almighty Himself. Thanks to Alexander Hersh for his lovely post.

When the Supreme KING of Kings and LORD of Lords, the LORD OUR GOD, who reigns forever in the Heavenly Realm above the Circle of the Earth, ascends to the Heavenly Throne in awesome Majesty and in great Glory, HE is indeed crowned with many Crowns!

I thought the Music was very nice. I'm familiar with the hymn though not of the Anglican Faith. The Abbey is a Very Beautiful Cathedral. I was fortunate to visit it twenty some years ago.

I love this edifying and respectful type of music. To me it trumps the modern rock show music that is being played in our American churches today.

Funny that everyone except the choir is pretending to sing. Lol

Westminster IS an Anglican cathedral, not Roman Catholic. Anyone can attend a service. Its not really like the Catholic Church except for some similarities in the liturgy, though "we" were a part of the correctly named "Roman" Catholic Church back in history. On the music I have a question. Why can't some of you just enjoy the music and not feel compelled to add your negative comments? It seems very childish to me.Must you attack someone else's joy in music? I wish all comments were hidden and you only went there if you wanted to. BTW: Even the previous (German) pope loved Anglican music.

If the organist seeks for self-realisation he should not do so at the expense of and appearantly to the disadvantage of a congregation. There are other opportunities.
