Questions is actually the first two verses of a Buffalo Springfield song.

for those who do not know, the original song "carry on" that is on the "deja vu" album is actually 2 different songs that they were working on at the time----"carry on"-and -"questions"--both were unfinished at the time----at some point during the making of "deja vu" somebody must have come up with the idea of combining the 2 parts into one song---and that ultimately became what most people know as the song "carry on"---in 1979/1980, due in part to contractual obligations to produce so many albums per specified time period(at least i think this is one of the reasons) the group released the album called "replay"--which was mostly previously released songs--but stills went back into the studio and actually used the original master tape of the carry on part of the song "carry on/questions" and recorded the rest of what you hear on this 1980 remix---mostly by himself --- and on a sidenote, which i am taking a guess on---i believe that stills had recently acquired a mesa boogie amp, which were becoming quite popular in the rock music world at the time----and i think he used that for the lead guitar part in the new second part of the song----i could be wrong about that, but most of his vintage guitar work up to that time were played thru a fender bassman amp---but the leads in the new part just dont sound like a bassman---but definitely sound like a mark series boogie----for whatever its worth

Did not know this version. Personally, I really prefer the original one, especially the missing "Questions" part.

I don't know, man. I really love the Questions part of the song! Even better than the Carry On portion. :/

Hi Larry... Anyone ever call you an arrogant pr_ck? If not, I'm willing to be the first... you need some lessons on humility and respect...!

This is available on the rare out of print album "Replay" . It was released in 1980. Both the 45 rpm and the abum version is officially 3:17. Stephen Stills did the editing and remixing. from wiki..... "Stills edited "Carry On," lopping off the "Questions" tag section, adding a new lead guitar solo along with overdubbed bass and drums."

Je n'aime pas cette version. Je préfère, et de loin, l'original !!

impossible to have harmonies like they did but they pulled it off magnificently.

The SRalston - harmonies are pretty easy. You just have to be brought up on Beatles, CSNY, and the Byrds. My old band did them perfectly.

PLEASE, Manassas31!! I need 2know! Is this a version appeared later on, in some rare&unreleased LP, or is it a homemade mix by you. But, if the 2nd option it´s the case, Where the fuck comes the guitar-solo from? Please, let me know. I´m a long time fan & -liking this song a lot- I always thought that the 1st part of it was way better than the 2nd. So,this 1, 4me, it´s a perfect option. It preserves the "good" portion & discards the "bad" section in favour of a new one, which is equally good!!

@RalfSouthard Although I respect your opinion, lets agree to disagree. Thanks for not being a dick about disliking it. At least you had the guts to say why you dislike it.

I'd like to do a cover of this... CSN is my favorite band when I was younger. I got all the instrumentals sorted out just needed the vocals.
