Simple southern song interpreted from a simple southern girl. Don't over analyze gentlemen.

I never noticed it before, but it sounds like Stills is cueing some of the verses for the other guys. He sings 2-3 words just before Crosby and Nash join in. For example, he sings "think about" a beat before the chorus. And "I've been around" a beat before another chorus. And "looking" a beat before another chorus.Southern Cross is on my top 5 Stills tunes list, going back to the first CSN album.

If you ever lived in Fiji, Vanuatu or Mauritius, and married a younger wife.(one you didn't keep....)Then it is easy to talk about Mr. Stills and his Southern Cross!Best song ever, ever, ever...As Jimmy Buffet says; "Thank you, Stephen Stills for writing this song."I got 800 feet of water line now! Nicely making (hay) way....And, I don't have to 'make way' if I don't want to...

One of my favorite groups. I found them by accident as a young adult and have been hooked ever since.  Their soulful songs always stir my soul.  Love them, and Southern Cross is one of my favorites along with Daylight Again.

I think this is the official song of literally sailing away from all the crap in your life: bills, spouse, boss, everything.

This should be the national anthem of New Zealand. No disrespect to Thomas Bracken.

"So I'm sailing for tomorrow my dreams are a dyin'And my love is an anchor tied to you tied with a silver chainI have my ship and all her flags are a' flyin'She is all that I have left and music is her name."I've been up and I've been down. I've lost everything. Music is all that I have left. It's never left me and for that, I'm grateful.

Most bands went to that pop sound when they went into the 1980s, but not Crosby Stills & Nash
