My only regret is that I have never seen them live. This is one of the greatest bands to ever live as far as I'm concerned. So much, soul and feeling in everything they did.

It's so cool that Stills was able to go back and complete "Find The Cost of Freedom" and genuinely improve on it. Beautiful rendition! (On the album "Daylight Again" they don't do the full-blown harmony at the end.)

Daylight again, Following me to bed. I think about a hundred years ago, How my fathers bled. I think I see a valley, Covered with bones in blue. All the brave soldiers that cannot get older, 'Been asking after you. Hear the past a'calling, From Armageddon's side. When everyone's talking and no one is listening, How can we decide? Do we find the cost of freedom Buried in the ground? Mother Earth will swallow you, Lay your body down.

Not necessarily. Some of us were just too damn young to go to Woodstock. Had to listen to it on the radio.

The concert where this was 1st recorded, Cleveland Music Hall in June 1970 was awesome. The mood among students was downright nasty. If Nixon had shown up no amount of Secret Service or troops could have saved his sorry ass. The music played that night was the sound of our generation.

You are so, so right, Jaclyn. It is all angelic... their voices, the lyrics, the guitar work. Dressed in my Army uniform, I've assured this will be the last song played before they put me to final rest.

I sing in a quartet and we cover this. I consider it an honour.

This is from the first Tonight Show back on the air after 9/11. The guests were John McCain and CSN. The other song they sang was Croz's arrangement of My Country Tis of Thee.

Recently, a friend asked me about about my life's regrets. There are several, of course, but one that stands out is that although invited by friends, I did not go to Woodstock in 1969. Some mistakes can be amended; most just remembered. Woodstock was advertised in advance as a music and arts festival. Who knew it would become a landmark event?

There are few occasions in any of our lifetimes when magic happens. It did once when these three remarkable musicians found each other. Coincidence? The hand of God? Doesn't matter. Their music will endure beyond all our years.
