Cream - I'm So Glad live at Royal Albert Hall, London.

May 2, 3, 5, 6. 1080p

1 of 22

In May of 2005 Cream returned to London's Royal Albert Hall-to the same stage where they had completed what was thought to be their final performance in 1968. It was one of the most eagerly anticipated, hard-to-get tickets in rock history. With the exception of a brief reunion set at their 1993 induction into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame, Cream had not played together in nearly four decades. This DVD documents Cream's momentous London shows. Performances from each of the four nights are featured and much more. Also included are alternate performances and interviews with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, and Eric Clapton. Cream formed in 1966 and disbanded in 1968. The band were a prolific and thrilling live act and toured incessantly in their short but remarkable history.

I will always be a Fender man, but have to admit I was secretly hoping the red Gibson ES335 from the original farewell shows would have been used. At least on this tune, anyway...

R.I.P., Mr. Bruce. The open D minor tuning on the song drew me like a magnet, as a kid. Great song to open with. There was only one song they made a single of on ".Cream Fresh Cream" and that was I feel free, but I believe this Reinvention of Skip James' "sonata"? should have been a single as well - and being that it wasn't, made me buy the album at the time. Skip James finally got to see some money as it's A.M. radio play caused the album to reach #37 in the states. Thanks for posting.

I remember listening to this song in Nam in 69 on LZ English on a friends reel to reel player. God it made us feel so good. Don't know why but I sure remember smiling whenever this played. Thanks

Jack's nod to Eric at the end gives me goosebumps every time; the amount of history/significance within that single gesture is astounding.
