A lot of us around from the cold warrior days of the '80s and early '90s. There was good-paying work for guys with some military experience who were willing to keep their mouths shut back then. And we were PROUD to do the jobs that needed "plausible deniability". I still stay in touch with some of the boys from back then. We used to call each other when we heard a rumor of freelance jobs for the "good guys". But they don't call us much no more. And when we call them they tell us-politely-"you're too old". I guess we are. But working for Uncle Sam "off the books" was fun and exciting and patriotic back then. And the boys I still know wish we could get just get one more shot so we could prove we're not "too old". But we are....and it sucks. There is no fun in getting old.
