This performance by Cocteau Twins was recorded live on TV in the UK in late 1983. (They played "From the Flagstones" too, which I may upload later). This rendition of Musette & Drums was their best-ever TV performance, in my opinion. The band were at their best creatively too. There's a couple of small sound drop-outs, but those were on the original TV broadcast, so there's nothing I can do :-(

I like how this show actually had the artists perform their music live, instead of just acting like they did. Like on TOTP lol

Man, what an inappropriate setting for their music. Fog machine, flashing lights...wtf? I got to see these guys live twice, and thank god those shows were nothing like this.

Thank-you for uploading that performance from The Tube. Back in 1983, I watched that and absolutely blasted it on my TV!!I was only a kid back then, and I thought Cocteau Twins was one of the greatest things I'd ever heard. I still do. Thank you again.

I watched this on the night it went out - I was so angry because the music cut out at crucial points (someone in the audience stood on the cable!). They WERE the greatest band ever! The greatest psychedelic band - forget Pink Floyd and Hawkwind - with the possible exception of The Incredible String Band! Along with Donovan, Scotland had psychedelia covered!

They make me smile. Everything they play is so ahead of its time but unrepeatable. An absolute point in time. Love them I do....

Simon wasn't part of the band till The Spangle Maker. The band was a duo during the Head Over Heels era.

I liked the early Cocteau sound much better.. Its almost like Siouxsie & the Banshees on acid! Yeah, Guthrie & Robert Smith could be bros in style & look...
