Give her a break you fuckers, she was going through an emotionally excruciatingly period. And they STILL managed to turn in some of the best music of their career. Plus it's Jay fucking Leno. She probably felt really out of place considering it was their first US appearance on television.

I love the Cocteau Twins but since no one is familiar with their music, Liz shouldn't have made it so different from the studio version.

Hard to comment on this performance, was it nerves, stimulants, taking the piss, really wanting to sing like that, who knows? My favourite Cocteaus memory was they appeared on Mark Radcliffe when he had his evening show, to promote this album. They played one of the slower tunes, can't remember which one, but immediately before playing the song Liz was cracking jokes with Radcliffe on air, they launched into this song and she immediately went into ethereal trance-like mode, delivering a spellbinding performance...the moment the last note of the song faded away she absolutely burst into hysterical laughter. Radcliffe was amazed, like where the fuck did that performance come from and vanish to amidst comedy hysteria?!Basically I think that sums up this performance. It's a spirit, you get it or you don't.

I would have also preferred she had sung without the stutter, but you know what....Liz can sing however THE F*CK she wants to, because she's Liz! She's the amazing artist, we're not!

don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Cocteau Twins, and 4-Calendar Café is unparalleled brilliance, but Liz Fraser's performance here is atrocious - she butchers her own song. such a shame, as anything remotely close to the studio performance and they could have garnered a hell of a lot of new fans. if this was my first exposure to this band, i'd have gone running for the hills. if you don't know the band and you hate this video, do yourself a huge favor and listen to the studio version.

This version maddens me. I went to see them in concert and immediately wanted to leave. Their album tracks are unfathomably great. Her obsessive bird noises in concert are a huge gimmicky let-down.

Still makes me cry from pure joy. Love this performance and this song is one of my all time favorites. Let go of yourself and FEEL people!
