Listen to this and "I Cried A Tear" by Laverne Baker. Same song different lyrics, slower beat. Both are awesome!

I was just a baby when this song was out. But it's still a great song no matter what.

I remember it and I'm 65. These songs were easy to sing. I was always trying to sing.

Thanks.. I have always contended that this music was the thing than bond Americans together from the turbulent times of the 50s and 60s. You simply can not stop the power of great music!

I love this old music. Like one comment said, I was fortunate enough to speak with the members of the Platters in Branson MO. it was great these older musicians love their fans, its not all about the hype and money to them.

I know what you mean. These people were real people and not spoiled kids that made a forture because of their concerts being so over priced. I can honestly remember spending about $5.00 for a ticket to go to a concert way back when. My, how things have changed over the years....

One more thing, after each R&B review, most of the entertainers would meet with fans. There were never mobs, or photographers so the meetings seemed more like talking to real people.

Wow, you are so lucky to have seen all those people. I love those oldies and I listen to them all day long at my work unless I am on the phone. I've tried getting some of the younger genration in tuned to these priceless songs. What a simple, unthreatening life back then. I wish that we can learn from the 50's and learn to all live together as one. Have a great day my friend.

I appreciate your comment and thought I would add a little more about the history I experienced over 50 years ago. It was towards the end of summer 1956 in Topeka, Kansas. Just before my Sophomore year in High School, I went to a Rhythm and Blues Review. Usually ten or more groups appeared at these R&B Reviews the same night. Shirley and Lee was one of those performing. Others included, The Platters, Chuck Berry, and Fats Domino, Frankie Lyman and the Teenagers and others. Regards, Ramon Noches

This is one of the all-time best songs sung by one of the all-time best singers. Van Morrison did a great cover a few years ago.

@rnoches I remember this song very well. I was in high school from (1952-1956) too bad we don't have music today like we had back then.
