I had to sign in just to say that even I am a huge fan of Leto 2 this is not a proper theme for the House Atreides. They deserve so much better. I jus hope that Dune will get a Star Wars fandome.

*K’RITHRA* The shuttle streaked out of the Camelot’s Hanger toward the stars before it. Past the nacelles, it banked and turned under the pilot’s deft skill. The stars streaked to port in the starboard turn, drawing the large glowing orb of K’rithra into view. The blue-green world was basked in fluffy white clouds and sunlight glinting off the ocean. Even as the shuttle pitched into the atmosphere and streaked inward, Alison was already in awe at the sight. Through the re-entry, she thought about how she had come to this place. An entire new galaxy lay in wait before her. New worlds, people and wonders to behold and yet, for not being the first Human to lay eyes on it all – she certainly was going to be the first to explore it. Her heart raced with the possibilities. The fire burned within her like never before and subconsciously gripped Rheannon’s hand tightly as she stared out the forward port. The fires died away and the thunderous booms echoed through the atmosphere. Clouds surrounded the small craft for the longest time… she thought there would be no end to it, but then the break came; fading into a clearing! They came in over the capitol city, its gleaming white, blue and silvery gold spires, towers and buildings, arched walkways looking like some gigantic glittering medieval… Camelot. It was a fairy tale on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea. They continued down below the cliff past a beautiful waterfall. The pilot took the craft back up and around the upper rim of the cliff toward the Imperial Palace. They streaked in over the ripping tides and up through the overhanging terraces through the city and into the back deeper areas of the K'rithran capital city. Aircars and high-tech holographic billboards with real, honest to God real flags and banners on the tips and edges of buildings! She saw an ancient section in the nearby distance at the outskirt of the city that clearly was parts of an ancient keep of a castle, with a crumbling church and residential areas still in use. The only thing to steal her attention away was the beautiful epic view of a city hanging off the edge of a cliff. She was in awe at the towering skylines overlooking the beauty of blue oceans and fluttering flocks of feathery fowl! The shuttle spun about and abruptly halted its arrival to land vertically upon the tarmac before the Imperial palace. Within seconds, the hatch opened and the Marines spilled out. Rheannon flowed away and out the hatch before even Alison did. Alison's long black duster flailed in the K'rithran wind. Alison took a deep, slow breath of this alien air. The wafting of something like cherry blossom and honey flowed over her. Her skin was electrified and her slight shiver gave to opening her eyes. "Rhea..." She spoke softly. "We're in safe territory. I should be fine." It was detail to enter before the senior officer and exit before the senior officer... but Rheannon wasn't taking her job lightly. The M.A.C.O. nodded, "I understand in theory, ma'am, but this is SOP. I'm doing my job." She walked forward, her own charcoal grey coat billowing behind her, her long hair tied back in a ponytail. They were ready. Alison led the way with Rheannon at her side. They stepped up to the double doors as the guardsmen opened them for their new arrivals. They were led forward through the main hall with the walls on either side nearly cathedral-like: High arches, grey stone, a form of stained glass every few paces. It was what Rheannon imagined Heaven's door might look like if it were run by the Catholics. Plush blue and gold carpeting lined the center walkway, with statues of all the planet's heroes and tapestries of K'rithra's culture and designs all the way down the hall. They walked beneath arch after arch towards the Emperor’s office. The doors to the Imperial Office were marred with the residual pock-marks of gunfire. The kind that old high-caliber gunfire would have spalled the door, yet apparently never repaired. Rheannon didn't know what to make of that as they parted. An elderly man in his early 50s, as far as she could tell, sat behind a desk. The doors closed solidly behind them. They were alone with the Emperor. He rose up, "Ah, Captain Alison Reed!" He smiled warmly. Gray marred his dark blue-black hair. "I am Emperor Apollo Artena. Please, call me Apollo." He made his way around the desk and extended his hand to Alison and shook it. "Please, what can I get for you?" "Water please." She spoke softly. "Rhea?" "I'll try one of your fruit beverages, if you have any that are non-alcoholic." Apollo headed to a Federation replicator and retrieved the beverages for the women. He handed them to and bowed slightly. "I hope to your approval." Alison sipped her water. "Always, but we're here on official business." He nodded to her, "Well, I presume you need the updated information. I just wanted to answer your questions and deal with any issues you feel are important." The Captain nodded to Rheannon. "Rheannon will go first. We have concerns based on the past history of the Enclave against the worlds we'll be visiting. Considering the information we received about the Grissom." "Yes," Apollo headed back behind his desk and took a seat, "I reviewed the data you sent to me." Rheannon drank a sip and then put it down. "To be frank, part of the reason we're here is we're the Camelot. We need to know what's going on, as the vanguard of the new fleet. First off, the last real data we have about your fleet is something like fifteen years old. We need to know what strength you're at and what kind of opposition you're ready to face. Situations are destabilizing." "We," Apollo began, "are weakened after the war with the Ni`yuH'jI. We have reclaimed the worlds taken, posted sentinels on the worlds necessary... but we are destabilizing in our ability to police the interstellar space-ways Certain factions are seeking to expand their horizons into interstellar travel and that cannot be permitted in many cases. They aren't ready." Apollo sat back and sipped his Kh'har Wine. "So then you don't deny allegations that your species has been witnessed repressing and quenching planets through force? Possibly even... throwing asteroids at them?" Her eyebrows arched up. "No, I do not." Her eyes grew wider. "I... see. You do realize that the Federation likely wasn't aware of that, and may re-think the alliance knowing this? The very core of the Federation is based on is the freedom of races to think and be, and do what they think they're ready for. The Human Race didn't even get into space until we *threw off* the coil of the oppressive nay saying of the Vulcan Science Directorate." "The alliance is not based on how we police our space-ways but on how we share our collective experience and knowledge – mostly, *our* technologies." Apollo eyed Rheannon squarely. "They've more than aptly looked the other way, as per the U.A.C. Constitution." Rheannon gritted her teeth. She hated politics and should have never strayed into that subject matter. "As I understand it , part of our reason for being here is to help you... police. Do you expect us to turn *our* heads, as members of the respectable upright military, if you're forcibly oppressing cultures?" Apollo sat up and looked at Alison, not Rheannon. "I expect you to assist us where negative cultures would incite war and quell it. Those who are not inciting war, you are more inclined to assist in obtaining citizenship." He looked to the two of them. "I do not want another war. I do not want undue hardship either. The Civonian people must accept a growing unified people, but not through our past oppressive behavior... *unless* it cannot be helped." He looked at Rheannon. "In some cultures, it *cannot* be helped." Rheannon nodded. "Are there any other threats to the galaxy or your people that you want to fill us in on, then?" "Just rumor..." Apollo shifted. "We've heard of a mystery. A ghostly fleet of pirates. The merchants call it the 'Phantom Fleet'. There are also the reports of felinoids attacking worlds on the fringe." She jotted down notes of that onto her Flexi and nodded. "We'll keep our eyes peeled." She smiled and left the rest of it to her Captain. "Good, I'll arrange a stay in a hotel in the city whilst you build your data. I appreciate your..." The doors rang. It sounded, actually, like someone was shooting the door with projectiles of some kind, loud and jarring. Then a voice could be heard on the other side of the door faintly. Amazing considering the kind of sound proofing installed. "HEY! Apollo! Open up!" A heavy boom knocked the door off its hinge. The door fell inward with a heavy bang and Apollo palmed his face. Fox looked at the fallen door. "You've *got* to stop using the lowest bidders for door repair." "Fox Strife, Captain Alison Reed, USS Camelot." Apollo gestured. Rheannon stood up and saluted, suddenly realizing a superior officer had broken the door down. "Sir!" Fox smirked, then waved a hand. "I appreciate the gesture of respect, but I get enough people saluting, know-towing and punching me as it is. You are?" She nodded, going back to at-ease and extending her somewhat small hand, especially in contrast to his. "Rheannon Stipes, Major, MA-- erm. Well, now, Commander, Starfleet. Sorry. New job." Fox shook it, carefully of course. "I know the feeling. Not sure how much you've been briefed, so I’ll make it quick. Fox Strife, formerly retired Captain, Champion of the Enclave and Emperor of the Sut-Nij Imperium." Sut basically translated to 'new', but with connotations that also meant 'rising.' She mulled that over given her studies. "Empire of the Rising Thieves?" The translation hit her. In Fox's native tongue, she gave him an old parable. "He who is not strong enough to take what he needs, had better be smart enough... to steal it." He raised an eyebrow. The sculpted plates of bone substituting for the eyebrows he'd lost as he matured. "Very good. I’m surprised anyone actually paid attention to Nij studies; I recorded enough holos for the Academy about it." Even Alison looked somewhat surprised – Rhea would have to have learned that very swiftly... Rheannon merely smiled. "I find it funny your first Empire's motto was so... straightforward. I enjoyed my Ni’yuH’jI studies. You're my kind of people – minus the whole breaking human bones during sex thing." She suppressed a wink. He couldn't help but grin. "We try and watch that. That opinion explains why you're out here, I bet." "Actually, i was activated by an obscure, rarely used Reserve Reactivation clause." She smirked saucily at Alley. "In other words, they drafted you." He glanced at Alley, then back to Rhea. That look had all kinds of implications... which he wouldn't comment on right now. "So, presumably you're here to get a situation update. How's that working out for ya?" She glanced at the Emperor who was being surprisingly gracious given Fox's intrusion. "We just finished up actually." "Ahhh." Fox walked over and handed Artena what he'd originally come here for; a small oblong piece of stone-like material with a tiny data jack on one end. "What I have on the current political situations. Militarily, not as much help as I’d like." He sighed. "The Valentis and AhKinMaRae's crowd are far too good at counterintelligence." Alison looked at Fox, "Consider yourself drafted sir..." He spun around. "Oh no, no you don’t. I've already got some matters to deal with here of a personal nature. While, yeah, I’m happy to get away from the throne... even if I’ll miss the *Air Horn of Doom...* you can’t really expect a Head of State to be drafted." … *Can she?* Alison got up from her seat and headed over to him. "General Stryfe: Years ago, you served Jason Osbourne in the Ni`yuH'jI Wars; now the Federation begs you to help in this struggle after the Nij Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my President's request to you exactly, but my ship has been assigned to Triangulum and I'm afraid my mission to bring you to Avalon Station properly has failed. I have information vital to the survival of the Federation into the memory systems of our AS. You will know how to retrieve it. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Fox Stryfe; you're my only hope." She knelt before Fox, for he was a head of state. Rhea had to resist the urge to face-palm. Fox resisted the urge as well. Was 20th century viewing a required class these days? He took a deep breath, then looked down at Alison. "Never could resist a damsel in distress. Fine, fine, I’ll come along. Call it a 'Extended Diplomatic Good Will' tour or some other BS. I’ll call Kolmratha and see if he can assist in that department. C’mon, c’mon, get up." She got up and looked at him. "I need to brief you privately. Shall we?" Alison motioned outside. "Rheannon, get what you need from the Emperor. I'll be back shortly."
