This is the core-pillar of smoothness, of Jazz. This is 'Smooth Jazz' - late 40s, before '54. Parker is emotionally overwhelmed with pathetic melancholia the strain of which is too onerous for him to shoulder any longer. He succumbs and pleads with us listeners to give him a helping hand (which he has been having since his physical demise in 1954 and even as I write; for some wise student of the saxophone is assiduously endeavoring to imitate him)I do love his fluid and lyrically constructive improvisation during the chord changes - more melodic and harmonic variations.

IM 19 AND I LISTEN TO THIS TYPE OF MUSIC. IM COOL AS FUCK. On a serious note though, Bird seriously touches my soul each time I hear him pouring his soul into his sax.
