Now this is good music. I was really disappointed with The Fall of Troy's new album, "Manipulator" cuz it didn't sound like them. I think the only good songs off it were Cut Down All The Trees And Name The Streets After Them, The Dark Trail, Semi-Fiction, Sledgehammer, and Ex-Creations. I say their self-titled album, The Fall of Troy was the best

ghost ship demos were amazing. phantom is amazing. you must have really shitty speakers if they make the fall of troy sound bad.

yeah deff. vocal layers always make a song better

maybe its because im listening to this thru shitty computer speakers at my work and not on my iphone but is it just me or does everything apart from the vocals sound like one big blur and u cant really hear anything to well like in the original?

yeah, but maybe they're going into this new cd thinking, maybe that, faster isn't always better. Like they are obviously maturing. And with the influence of frank, you seriously can't just say its not as good, until the new cd comes. I'd keep that thought on hold. Just my opinion.

I think the problem people are having is that they are not the same band they were at Ghostship. So duh, it's going to be different.

I agree the screaming made this song in the demos epic, however i am disappointed he sang each of the chorus like you said it would have been nice to have a gradual upgrade. Nonetheless sick album.

but still, what's life without opinions haha. it's still a great song, but it's unfortunate enough to be between my two favourites on "Phantom..."

The thing is, part of what made part 4 great in my eyes was the slight brutality of it. It just doesn't have the right sort of balance to it IMO. Chapter 5 nails it because each chorus gets gradually more intense, it builds. I'm imagining the chorus building in intensity the second time, and it just seems to I dunno, "click" better. I think they've made the best song off of Ghostship into the weakest song on this. It's still good, but the rest have improved tenfold, and C3 is fucking incredible.

lord ish

how can you even say that? His voice is actually unbelievable now. no impact? He's milking the fucking shit out of that chorus. Granted, yes, it's different but the screaming, overall, has a much bigger impact because it's used less making it that much more meaningful when it does happen...imo.

"God's not a goldmine" part loses most of its impact when it's sung I think. but the song's far better than the original bar that. Thom needs to scream more. Imagine "God's not a goldmine" with screaming. considering his screaming technique seems to have increased in spade (listen to the scream at the start, for instance). that's the only problem with this song IMO, and the EP in general.
