Chakal was formed in early 1985 in Minas Gerais by William Wiz, Destroyer, and Mark. With the addition of the aggressive voice of Sgôto marked the first time Chakal was presented live during "Metal BH II". Other bands who attended the festival included, Sagrado Inferno, Armmagedon, Sepultura, and Minotauro.
In 1987 the band launched the "Abominable Anno Domini" LP with Korg on vocals and began a successful career throughout Brazil, with concerts in crowded BH, São Paulo, and Recife. The EP "Living with The Pigs", brought to the Brazilian metal underground the best cover: hungry wolves roasting the three little pigs, in a design that recalls the pictures of children's comics.
