@Mike c--At least Celtic Frost came back from their sellout album. Vanity/Nemesis was good, but it wasn't enough to remove Cold Lake from their legacy. Monotheist, however, was arguably their magnum opus (I would put it up there with To Mega Therion) and more than made up for the blunder that was Cold Lake.Metallica's attempt at a comeback album after Load/Reload and St. Anger (I thought the Black Album was okay--sue me) was Death Magnetic, which was ruined by horrible production (and even if the production were better, would still fall short of their early material). And then they went and fucked up again with Lulu.

Wrong. Metallica did exist before Hellhammer, and Metallica is just as influential as Celtic Frost. Celtic Frost sold out worse and before Metallica did with the Cold Lake album.
