The 'Roe' is the river that runs through Dungiven, Finvola was o'Cahans (anglicized as O'Kane) daughter who was married to a scottish chieftan who was bessotted with her, on the condition her body was returned upon her death. The Banshee cried which told the O' Cahans she had passed on.
