Always have found Canisbus to be a very gifted complex rapper, almost too complex. I understand he is one for the "lyricists" but his flow is pretty piss poor. All good lyricists like the Eminems, Nas's, J Coles and Mos Def's have excellent delivery. This guy had the potential to be huge and lets face it there was a time when everybody thought canibus was the hottest rapper out. Sad to see a career wasted, he really shot himself in the foot with the wyclef thing.

I've seen the comments. There's really no way to compare there style. Each have a unique craft that fits there style. The only reason you don't here from Can-I-Bus is because he never went mainstream like Em did. Eminem made songs he didn't even like to get to the status he is now. Can-I-Bus just kept it lyrical with no commercial tracks. But both are dope artist in their own right!

This is pure genius... Absurdly complex multi's (he even inverts the stress on some of the multis when he can come up with a slanted multisyllable), homonyms, heteronyms, alliteration, metaphors (double, triple entendres), similes, etc etc. I love rap god, and Eminem kills that track, but this is a better song lyrically. He has to accelerate his flow just to maintain the meter. Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant shit from Canibus. "I close my eyes when i freestyle so i can read what prints across them" Do you Eminem fan boys (disclaimer: I love eminem, he's a rap savant, but i hate his fanboys) realize how sick this line is?? Dude closes his eyes and his brain just prints lyrics on the inside of his eyelids. Those are the kinds of lines that really make Canibus unique, it's not convoluted, its not a Chino-XL-like attempt to be esoteric, it's just absolutely INGENIOUS. How does he even think of shit like this?...RAP GENIUS. It's too bad his career never took off, but lyrically his best verses are as good as anybody that's ever rapped. This song isnt even his best lyrically.

I grew up idolizing Canibus' lyricism..BUT Eminem is def. a better mc..Canibus is just different as far as subject matter but just because he is more scientfic and appears more intelligent doesnt make him better to me..Canibus isnt big into multi-syllables and changing flow/delivery/subject matter WHERE Eminem has mastered all that and lyrically has gotten soo good its almost like nuthin doesnt rhyme in his verse and whats impressive is throughout all his multi-rhyming, it all makes perfect sense and is humourous as well as serious/controversial/witty ect. Eminem is def. the GOAT but Canibus was once an incredible lyricist/rapper...he's trash now..my boy did a song with him last yr. and made Canibus seem like an amatuer to the younger generation that hasnt heard his past body of work. And after the Dizaster battle....smh..RIP Canibus
