This is from BTO's 1979 album "Rock And Roll Nights". This is ripped off the cd release of the album for good quality. Kiss did a later reworked remake of this song in 1985.

The Kiss version came out in 1982, not 1985. It's on Creatures Of The Night.

Songwriters Adams and Vallance contributed "War Machine" and "Rock and Roll Hell" for Kiss's 1982 Creatures of the Night album. "Rock and Roll Hell" was reworked, slowed down and given rewritten verses. Gene took a credit.

The ONLY thing about KISS' version is the couple lines in the chorus.. The verses in KISS' version do not even remotely resemble this song.. It's a completely different song.. And KISS' "Rock and Roll Hell" kicks much ass.. And Bryan Adams (yes, THE Bryan Adams), Adam Mitchell, and Gene Simmons are credited with the song.

The kiss version is a completely different song, except for the chorus. When you completely rewrite a song you get song writing credit.

You are correct about that. One detail I never thought of at that time, was that there was a re-issue of "Creatures Of The Night" with a different cover art. My Bad.

but in your discription you said kiss kiss did a remake in 1985, whether its LP or Tape cassette its still 1982, Never mind cd re-releases. the dummies at cduniverse re-released Ozzy Blizzard of ozz on CD & titled it as a 2011 release.

The KISS version (from "Creatures of the night" album (1982) ) is much better and much more a rock song. The best of BTO was in the early years......

@truckdriver1964 Okay, I guess you've been quite lucky then. ;) For the Kiss album, it was actually re-released with a different artwork and a slightly altered running order in 1985 (both on CD and LP), so I guess it's the version you mean. Anyway, this song is great, thanks a lot for the upload.

@FrenchPaul1988 It was out on CD for a short time. I am lucky to have a friend that manages a music store near me. So, I have had this copy since it first was released like all my BTO cd's. Yu are correct on Kiss's version, but that is when the Album on record was released. The CD version was 1985.

Always thought this album had never been released on CD... And the Kiss version is from 1982, not 1985.
