i love conor oberst to pieces. and although christmas carols are not always my most favorite thing--even though they are shoved into all our brains every year--the way he takes this traditional song, covered usually for the most part in rather generic ways, and turns it into this incredible emotional song makes me so warm, like a toasty fire. you can feel the backstory to his version seeping through your computer screen.

OMG, didn't know he made a CHRISTMAS ALBUM!!! It's his luck that the christmas traditionals are so much better "over there" than in Denmark, where I am from :)
