I also heard this song for years in a large grocery chain over the intercom. Tried to find out who sang it, even bet a guy that it was the beach boys, i was kinda right. Love this song and glad to finally know the singer.

Gideon - this is a fairly simply production, and beautiful. It was not over produced. If you claim that, what's your take on "Good Vibrations"? I only ask, because another exceptional arranger from the era, Paul McCartney, calls it quintessentially perfect song writing.

landy had nothing to do with this record!! brian was living in a suburb of Chicago, and it was all him and joe Thomas producing the record!!! landy the little prick was gone by 1992 after he dosed brian with psychotic drugs and he had a grand mal seizure because of it!! get your facts right before you post messages please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is an amazing tune, but just for the sake of historical accuracy the song was actually written by comedy radio legend Steve Dahl, and some of the lyrics were altered by producer Joe Thomas, but for the most part it was all Steve Dahl's lyrics with Brian's life story in mind! One of my favorite songs ever, and from two of my favorite entertainers, Brian Wilson and Steve Dahl!
