This campaign led to Brian writing, composing, producing and pretty much releasing a solo album as the Beach Boys, this album was called LOVE YOU. The other members of the Beach Boys then basically said "Alright we gave you a second chance at being leader, we don't like your weird music so your not leader anymore". This was the last straw for Brian, and he chose to not even try anymore. This leads us into the late 70s through to the early 90s, in which Brian spent under the control of Dr.Landy.

--Part musical,(Mt.Vernon) and it would have taken up most of a side of the album Holland. But the other Beachboys said no and included it as an EP instead. Needless to say after being crushed with SMiLE, and then returning just to be crushed again with Mt.Vernon and the record sales in general, Brian basically said screw it and from 72-75 chose to do drugs and stay in his room. In 76 after a sketchy therapist had worked with him there was a "Brian's Back!" campaign by his band and label-----

Well in 1970 the album Sunflower had been released and it had some songs on it that are considered to be Brian's first serious attempts at music, since SMiLE. When that album didn't live up to expectations Brian took a hit. BUt Brian was now contributing again and on the next albums he would try to include serious legit songs, but the albums (though critically well received) weren't really performing too well on the charts. Then Brian worked very hard on a song that was part spoken word---------
