Not to piss on it but look what happened when Brian May tried something of his own back in the day. It went nowhere. Dont get me wrong, i love it. But but....

Happy birthday to Brian May — here’s one of my favorite things he's done, partnering with Eddie Van Halen on a slice of SciFi Cheesiness. Brian May - Star Fleet [Star Fleet Project 1983]

Guitar World ranked these guys #1 and #2 greatest of all time (Eddie at #1). Forget bitching about who's better, enjoy hearing them both on the same track.

Brian May is great. That's a given. But, we gotta admit, no one comes close to EVH! Eddie's the greatest of 'em all. He just kills!

queen was indeed unique however they had lp's full of junk with a few good songs. Most of all vh lp's were good all the way through with the exception of some of the radio hits

I have no idea, but I have to say. I'm jelly. I did however manage out of pure dumb luck to get my hands on a 7" single of Star Fleet, the 7" has a shortened single version of Star Fleet, and Son Of Star Fleet, which is instrumental. Star Fleet is 4:12 on the single.

Relative to the countries both these bands hail from is similar. Sure Freddy was awesome but DLR TOTALLY suited van halens daredevil nature.

How do you figure? The two bands are nothing alike with the exception that they both play rock music and have talented guitarists. Van Halen did boring radio pop-rock, while Queen did (for the most part) interesting, unique, and complex music that sounded like something no one had ever heard before.
