I have heard 3 tracks from this album so far, and this is by far my favorite. Brian is a true iconoclast...his music has astounded me for the last 38 years. No one has even come CLOSE to creating the unique musical soundscapes he's conjured up in that brilliant head of his. At a speaking engagement I saw him at 3 years ago, he mentioned interest in working with MeShell Ndegeocello...I would LOVE to hear what would come of that.

Here's a very dreamy track from *Drums Between The Bells*. For this album Eno and Holland got random people with cool-sounding voices to speak, not sing, Holland's poems. Eno often told them to *slow down*, but here all the lyrics are repeated twice, slowed down the second time. There are a lot of other electronic tricks going on here, which combine to make it sound like a film of flowing water shown in slow motion. Meanwhile, the lyrics start dissolving the difference between appearance and reality, as so often happens when you scrutinize the borderline too closely - like when I stare so carefully at this computer screen I start noticing dust on the screen, dirt on my glasses, floaters in my cornea, and afterimages... in my brain? Or are they all in my brain? As Holland says: "you really seem to see the real."*The Real**the flourish**seeing the real in things**really seeing the real**describing the exact actuality**of what it is you see**or what it is you seem to see**you really seem to see the real**the exact and actual reality**of the real in things you seem to see**the real thing**and no other voice or paint in this**but just the thing, you see**the thing you see**is the real in things**what you see is what seems**the reels of this seem to mean the real in things**while real runs out and seems to reach the real**as it runs**no dry run**the real is done*

@opertain We are most likely listening to Brian Eno's keyboard track backwards which is how he created the sound effect in "An Ascent". A thing of beauty.
