Grace Given GRACE From Christ

The free gift of salvation is not the "gift of Christ-mass" (mass = made up Catholic tradition, that is not biblical in any way). Salvation is the gift of God, that he has given to us, through his son Jesus Christ. Christmass has NOTHING to do with Jesus Christ. Have you ever looked into the origin of it? Have you compared it with what the Bible says, where do you find greedily giving "gifts" to someone with the expectation of one in return in the Bible? Do you know the word "gift" means "free"?

Why, because he is such a "nice" or "good" person? Thankfully God doesn't view us the way we view each other. "For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."1Sam.16:7 It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done on this earth, you CAN be saved, even someone like Hitler. Because God took away even Hitler's sins, which were actually no worse than yours or mine. All sin has been paid for, now it's just whether you believe it.

Grace Given GRACE From Christ

Once you believe the gospel, you are joined to Christ's perfect body and are therefore PERFECT in HIM! Our flesh will still sin, because of the effects of sin in it, *Romans 7 where Paul talks about doing things he doesn't want to because of the sin in his flesh. But notice how he says it's no longer he that sins, but his flesh. Because our flesh is just temporal and weak, but our spirit is perfect in Christ and one day we will get a perfect body too, at the time of the rapture or after death.

So no, we don't need to repent or ask for forgiveness of sins that were already paid for and put away out of sight. All we must do is accept the gift of eternal life Jesus Christ offers, through faith in his FINISHED work on the cross. Totally relying on Jesus Christ alone to save us, nothing we can do in and of ourselves could ever be good enough. And believe me it is impossible to stop our flesh from sinning on this earth. But the great thing is...

Also, if all you need to do is ask for forgiveness and "turn from sin", have you done that now and are you now living perfectly and not sinning anymore? Or do you continue to sin and then repent over and over again? That doesn't sound like our "FREE gift of salvation" the Bile talks about, that sounds like something you have to WORK for! Salvation is a FREE gift, meaning we can't earn it or do anything to merit it. Ever hear Ephesians chapter 2, verses 8-9? "by grace are ye saved through faith".

No we don't deserve the free gift of salvation Jesus Christ offers us. We don't need to ask forgiveness from our sin though, because Jesus Christ already dealt with the sin of the whole world and that is in the past. So for you to ask for forgiveness of them, would show that God hasn't completely dealt with them. Therefore wouldn't he have to die again and again each time someone "repents of their sin"? So he can deal with each sin? No, it was all taken care of once and for all! See Psalm 103:12

Thanks be to the Father. The debt was paid by the Son and is a free gift to all who accept. That is the Gift of Christmas!! Thank you for your nice comment as well.
