Does anybody else get a "diablo 2" vibe from 0:42 to 0:52?

Love the first track. Very technical but has a nice groove as well.

Is there a more badass ending to a song than this?

It's not an opinion that this music is better than popular music. It is a fact. Someone can like pop music and simple music more, but that does not make it good. In order to create music of this quality a musician has to be educated. Jarzombek knows all about different time signatures, different keys, different kinds of chords, and how to use them all. He is technically and musically fantastic on his instrument. Pop music is inferior, as is Taylor Swift's guitar playing, because it hardly takes any knowledge about music to create it. It uses 3 or maybe 4 chords max. It's all in 4/4 or cut time, maybe 3/4 occasionally, and is really about a minute of music repeated 3 times. It's not imaginative and requires no education and very little practice or training. You know why I really hate popular music? Because it is dumbing down the world. No one feels the need to really learn about the intricacies of advanced music because anyone can just hop on stage, whip up a looped beat, and sing 4 notes to become famous these days. Anyone who is educated in music can see popular music is absolute garbage. Fact. Not opinion. You may like popular music. It may be catchy and fun, but that doesn't make it good.

That's all opinion. If you say, for example, "it's a fact that Ron Jarzombek is a better guitarist than Taylor Swift" - first of all, that's not a fact. He's a more technically skilled guitarist but "better" is not a fact. There's no way to verify him being "better". And even if we agree that he's "better" as a guitarist that doesn't make his music objectively better, it just makes his guitar playing better. Do you see the problem here? "better", "superior", "inferior" are subjective terms.

Its a simple concept. Mainstream music is inferior because of the lack of talent required to perform it. Any pop star out there has some person purchasing "songs" from the songwriter to be performed by the "marketable face". Then you have Blotted Science. From the sounds of it, it appears they create everything they perform and I doubt Taylor Swift would be able to play Ron's parts. The bass player from One Direction might give Alex a run for his money though.

You're literally the dumbest person on the planet.

That's your opinion. You can't possibly verify this as true. What is your basis for mainstream music being undeniably inferior to everything else? How can you prove without a shadow of a doubt that pop music is bad? Someone can simply disagree with you and you'd be proven wrong.

id like to say something here, yes there are inferior forms of music, i wont go into extreme detail but the majority of anything mainstream or on the radio is likely to be inferior to everything else

What isn't a song? If you're gonna jump into a 10+ post thread be specific.

You need to realize this is not a song. It's a collection of ideas, some totally original, solid musical ideas. You could create a number of songs from the themes displayed here...If you don't write, this was not made for you. If you do, open your mind and train your ear.

A car without headlights is a car without headlights. A house without indoor plumbing is a house without indoor plumbing. The fact is, those are all your opinions. There are plenty of people who live in houses without indoor plumbing, and they don't complain because there's no objective "bad". The standard for "bad" hasn't even been defined in any of those cases so there's no argument to be had. Why is a song without melody bad? I can name good songs without melody, ex 1 - /watch?v=TwlfTjuhkJw

I car without headlights is still a car. Just a shitty one. A house without indoor plumbing is still a house. Just a shitty one. A tv without sound is still a tv, just a shitty one. A guitar missing strings is still a guitar. Just a shitty one. A song without melody is still a song. Just a shitty one.

(continued) - a band could have no melody, and they wouldn't be objectively "bad", they'd be objectively "not melodic", and if they had no melody or rhythm, they'd be "not music", not "bad music". Your argument only applies to things it doesn't apply to, so it's still subjective either way.

There is a melody. A melody can be a Perfect Unison, and you can play one note repeatedly and it'd be a melody. I'm not going to defend Lil Wayne's guitar soloing because I personally don't like it, but there's nothing "non-musical" about it because it has rhythm and melody. What makes it objectively bad? The fact that you don't like it? If, for example, one person in the whole world likes it, it's not objective. There is no standard through which to evaluate music as "bad" or "good".

*Rhythmic, but hardly musical.

Oh? Music has a definition. It is described simply as a combination of harmony, melody, and rhythm. So how is it that so many so-called 'djent' bands get away with chugging the same note(s) continuously throughout riffs, or even whole songs? Where's the melody? Rhythmic, but musical. Or perhaps you could go on and tell us how Lil' Wayne's guitar soloing is just EXCEPTIONALLY musical. Need I go on about the pop genres notorious for artists who dont even write their own music?

I'll make sure to take humor advice from some random person on the internet that I don't even care about. And there aren't inferior forms of music, because judging music on aesthetic quality is itself subjective to the point of irrelevance. Noise is not inferior to classical, which is not inferior to Jazz which is not inferior to Electronic, and vice versa and so on and so on. To claim objective inferiority is to pretend as though your opinion is a fact, which is not possible in this case.
