I'm a huge fan of Bill Mallonee and his work with VOL. It's nice to see/hear his influence in other artists, but this feels a little too close to the original to just be an influence… No allusion to or mention of Bill or VOL… hmm… he's worked for so long, I think he deserves some recognition at the very least… perhaps a cowrite credit and residuals… just saying...

Bought a cd with this song on it back in the mid-90's. Except it had a different title (Blister Soul) and better lyrics. While you 're mining the 90's, have you looked into the likes of Wilco, 16 Horsepower, or The Freddy Jones Band? Some good tunes worth stealing there, for sure... ;-)
