"As soon as the driver turns the corner, we notice couples holding hands, people walking together, people with eyes wide open. Theyll only get a glimpse of us, but that will make us feel that the Bowerbirds are in their element, there, in the streets of the Lower East Side..."

I think I'm the only person who has ever covered this song on youtube. I'm completely disappointed that it's not so famous. It's such an amaing song!

I'm from Ticonderoga, and I'm not sure how this song relates. However he did say "Old ship" Could he be referring to the S.S Ticonderoga air craft carrier? Idk, but I like the song.

it's incredible that not even one pedestrian stayed a bit to listen this awesome band... sad truth...

I agree that its shocking no one stops to really listen. I have a feeling if I came across this in the drudgery of daily life I would have an epiphany of the sublime and immediately start weeping like an italian woman at a funeral.

Bowerbirds...almost as good as Ticonderoga was, but not quite. I like the homage to the old band though.

broohaha22: You're correct. But it was in Washington, D.C. -- and the violinist was none other than one of the finest classic musicians in the world, Josh Bell. The Washington Post put him in a subway to test to see what people's reactions would be or even if they could tell that what they were hearing was genius and if it would even cause them to pause or stop on their ways to work. And he was playing a freakin' Stradivarius! Ha. Awesome experiment.

Ticonderoga is my favorite brand of #2 Pencils! Everything down to the title of the song is good about this video!

Happens more often than you think. I read somewhere that a renowned classical musician with a very expensive violin performed a free show at a metropolitan subway station with little fanfare during rush hour. Not sure if it was Boston, but almost no one paid any attention or were in too much in a hurry to stop and listen.

That was a great song. You can tell that bike rider was interested and stopped toward the end of the song... just a little too late, buddy. Thanks for posting. At the end, did she say "Did you hear me f*ck up that one time?..." Nice.

how many times a day do you think you are like those people walking past true genius unknowingly and unaware?!
