Cuando compuse la canción, pensé que era bonita y que tenía espíritu religioso. Creí que Bono la haría muy bien. Bono estaba de gira por Alemania, por lo que quedamos en un hotel para grabar sus partes vocales. Tenía dolor de garganta, pero fue muy profesional y me comento que no me preocupara, que haría bien sus partes. Al final quedó muy bien, la escuché el otro día y realmente Bono la interpreta estupendamente, a pesar de lo mal que estaba durante la grabación; realmente casi no podía hablar. Nuestras dos voces se complementan muy bien. Ya había cantado con Bono en el escenario, en algún concierto de los Rolling Stones. Interpretamos It´s Only Rock and Roll y recuerdo que al final de la canción empezó a cantar otros temas de los Stones.

They seem so casual about the whole thing. Recording in the hotel room with little equipment, no acoustic treatment at all, and they have a salad for lunch. Then they both take their private planes.9 years ago

Bono's voice from around 1998 until 2004 was pure shite. Every big U2 knows that and if they don't they should. It seems as if he didn't take care of it from 1980 until around the end of Zoo TV and all of a sudden he couldn't sing that great any more. There's this one thing I don't get about recording vocals. Often you see recordings like this when they have the mic placed in what seems to be a random room on location in some house, hotel or whatever. It's just a mic stand and a pop filter, that's it. But how come they put all that money into making vocal booths and sound proof studio materials when they actually get away with simple setups like this one? I've seen it with alot of big artist. What about the acoustic side of it? Doesn't seem like they really need soundproof surroundings at all, or even reflection panels or anything. 10 years ago
