Having just posted Lacy J. Dalton's "They Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To," it instantly reminded me of this great song, with a VERY similar title.

This song takes me back to when I was growing up in the mid 70's, I used to sleep with a radio in my bed so I could listen to those old 50,000 watt Am country stations late at night. I miss those days When Country Music wasn't as popular as it is today, but the Music was awesome.

Well, they did back then. A woman with the same last name wrote back to me. Good luck!

They do, Chuck. I wrote to the address on the back of an album. At that time, he gave up music due to his religious beliefs. The woman said the family was trying to convince him he could serve The Lord and keep making music, but, it was several years ago before computers :) If you hear back, please let me know. Thank you.

Does his family know how to contact him? I'd love to drop him a note. We had some great times together. We also did too much drinking at times too. I'd sure like to send him a note if someone can tell where. I looked on Facebook and didn't find anything.

This song takes me back to my teen years. Wish they would have never ended. What a great song. They sure don't make them like that anymore. Thx.for posting it.

I hope that Rory Bourke is doing well. I live at the end of the old Music Row that I worked at in the 70's and miss all the wonderful old buildings, homes into offices and walk the area and wonderful memories come back. Playboy Records was the best job I ever had.

The theme of this song is sadness and regret, yet I find it hauntingly beautiful. I have tried to find it since it was current, back in the late summer/early autumn of 1976. Many thanks to very cool sound! :)

This is probably my favorite by Bobby. Sorry to hear from his family, he gave up the music career to serve God.
