Bob Seger doing Heavy Music Part 2. Sounds like the original, but you will notice the difference.

I like Pt 2 much better than 1 though both are the BERST Seger- which is the best anything. But I this the end is" NSU (reference to Cream,), SRC (Scott Ricahrds case- his main Detroiot rival at the time) Stevie Winwood got nothing on me" - Glenn Frey on Piano- and the zombie voices I am sure were deliberate- Bob invented the call out rappers- and the term Heavy for music- metalheads- and Glenn's 3rd band was thge Heavy Metral Kids

They should have given the Hollywood Star to the Last Heard. Sorry, but Silver Bullet Band really marked the beginning of his downhill slide.

If Winwood thought he was Ray Charles, then Seger was WILSON "F'N" PICKETT!

That young Seger was an arrogant little git. Too bad he couldn't spring any more life out of the backup guys chanting "heavy music". They sound utterly bored!

I saw him at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit in November or December, 1967. He played this and 2+2 and the place went ballistic. He was just one of the great acts from the Motor City in the 1960's. They don't make music like this anymore.

Garden City class of 68 here. Our band 'THE NOBLEMENN' played in the Garden Park also. Before the Ice Arena there were the tennis courts where the staqge was set up. I wish that I would have been there when Segar was there. We played there in summer of 66...I think!

I love the lyric at the 2:28...STEVIE WINWOOD AIN'T GOT NOTHING ON ME. He hit the nail on the head with that one. You rock Bob!!!!

Part 1 is still his absolutely best track, and best vocal.

Heavy Music is featured (along with "Rosalie") in the documentary about CKLW, "Radio Revolution: The Rise and Fall of the Big 8". There is a clip from the movie on YouTube, and the dvd with extra features is available. Check it out!
