I saw him in 1969 or 70 Lake Amador, California. The concert was called the Gold Rush Festival, and the headliners besides Diddley were Ike and Tina Turner, Santana, Cold Blood, Sons of Chaplin, Albert Collins, Kaleidoscope, Al Wilson and Taj Mahal. I ran away from home and ended up in a pool hall in Sacramento California when some guy pulled up in the old beat up merc and said lets go rob a house then we'll head up to Lake Amador and will check out the festival. So we climbed in an open window burglarized the home, drove up into the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, paid $3 and saw the best concert I can never remember. I do remember Ike and Tina Turner playing Mockingbird, Santana singing, you've got to change your evil ways... Baby and Bo singing, hey Bo Diddley ... I wish I could find some footage of the concert.True story.
