Jagger-Richards, doing a Lennon-McCartney, before they even had hits themselves....!

Recorded on January 17 1966 at Abbey Road Studios, London. Written By: Keith Richards & Mick Jagger and produced By: Norrie Paramor. Cliff Richard (vocals), Hank Marvin (guitar), Bruce Welch (guitar), John Rostill (bass), Brian Bennett (drums). The picture shows Jet Harris who was long gone after John Rostill joined the Shadows.

I don't mind Chris Farlowe's version of Out of Time but this is terrible.

I think Cliff Richards cover of the very good Rolling Stones (sad and moody) song is just great. A very uplifting version. Hanks guitar helps with that.If you've never heard it. Give it a go. Realeased. 1 year after the stones version

The Last thing that Cliff Richard & The Shadows did together of any real note. "In The Country" was their final collaboration, and although it was a much bigger hit than this, this is far superior. This only got as high as No. 18. After it started to drop, he (Cliff) did an interview for NME, in which he claimed to have been unaware that the song was composed by Jagger and Richards, and had he been, they would not have recorded it. Great performance...shame he couldn't keep his holy trap shut afterwards though!!

Retro, I've been finding lots of Cliff/Shads songs I like. I LOVE "I Could Easily Fall," plus the songs from "Cinderella" and "Finders Keepers" are much more to my liking than the ballads Cliff got stuck with, thanks to his short-sighted management and Norrie Paramor, all of whom thought rock wouldn't last. I think the heavy-handed arrangements with violins and horns are what I find off-putting--much too "old" for a singer Cliff's age then.

#Ronnie-Bird-Couvertures / Middo39la version de cliff richard, plus mélodieuse,ne pas oublier qu'il fut longtemps accompagné des Shadows

L-R: Hank B. Marvin, Tony Meehan (my fave after Cliff), the man himself (Cliff), Jet Harris (always recognizable by the blond hair) and Bruce Welch...if I'm not mistaken.
