Blood Sweat & Tears - I Can't Quit Her. From their first album 'Child Is Father To The Man', when the leader of the group was Al Kooper. My previous video of this song was my first attempt to load a video. This one is better.

I'm in a "tug of way" when listen to this. The Bass guitar catches my attention, then those horns and lyrics pull at me. Amazing tune!

Yeah, this is a perfect tune- music, lyrics, arrangement, the playing and Al Kooper's singing.Kandli, iAs a lyric it is three steps above the usual I-want-you lyric, because of the tenderness of the woman the singer lauds.I've known this tune since the late seventies and it's still a gem.

Groovy Reflections

BST's 1st single, which didn't chart. It's from their first album, Child Is Father to the Man, released in 1968. Blood Sweat & Tears - I Can't Quit Her

The playing and arrangements are brilliant. Even better, tenderness is promoted right alongside passion and need. Tenderness is way too underrated these days.

One of the ALL TIME great rock albums....and one of the first if not THE first with horns. In my book the ONLY BS&T!

I THINK AL KOOPER ( THE ORGINAL SINGER WAS BETTER THAN DAVID CLAYTON THOMAS WHO REPLACED HIM)

One of the great songs from the sixties that unfortunately is not played on the radio.

one of the most amazing groups ever. groundbreaking, unique. a great jazz group somewhat aside from their "pop" image that was so successful.

The singer decided to leave. Also, this album went gold, their next album went 4xPlatinum. Sounds like a smart move to me.

Groovy Reflections

Their first single, 1968, from their first album, Child Is Father to the Man. The song didn't chart...which is a shame. Late that same year, they released a 2nd LP simply title "Blood Sweat & Tears" and the song "You've Made Me So Very Happy" shot up the charts to #2. Blood Sweat & Tears - I Can't Quit Her

Why did they switch lead singers?
