Such a nice lively song , to tell such a sad story. And that's art :) When You can even make something ugly pretty, and make a point at the same time. For Dido, this had never been an issue, as opposed to most of the junk we "swallow" nowadays in the world of pop-art culture. Thank You for the upload, and for a nicely done lyrics video. Agree with you! When you first hear Blackbird, its a pretty, playful song. But beneath the surface, its structurally complex and lyrically dark, relaying the story of a man walking out on his family. DIDO: “ If I've got a really dark lyric, it’s probably disguised in a chirpy song,” says the singer. “There’s usually a conflict somewhere. To me, that’s what makes life interesting – nothing is ever completely as it seems.”

it seems you have given her work a lot of thought. well you are right in my view. her transition as a person clearly is reflected in her successive albums...saying that I think that I expected a bit more from her regarding variety of the rhythm of the songs as well as the tone(octave) selection....somehow I feel instead of soaring higher, he has trapped herself into a certain pattern...would love to hear more versatility from her in future..

May be she is in a more mellow place after all. Well she is married n has a baby, it reflects on her work. Earlier she wrote songs on being head-over-heels in love, break-ups, addiction, expressed anger in songs like 'All You Want'. It seems as if it was all 'happening' to her then. Now her songs are more reflective, in the sense that she's in a place where she is more of an 'observer' than a 'doer'. That's just how i see it. It's so cool that Dido fans are unconditionally supportive of her :)

Dido truly made a transition from one album to another. I didn't connect with the songs on Safe Trip Home instantly. But eventually I got totally hooked on to them. Just give it some time and if you are a True Dido fan, I'm sure it'll grow on you!
