As a child growing up in Memphis I loved Deep Purple and the harder stuff but Black Oak Arkansas just was a talent bad with one of the best drummer and bass player. They wrote music that was crazy and beautiful and in my opinion they were the best and earliest Southern group. Also great lyrics a southern man can relate to and some flat out great country music. They had great stories about the southern way of life and everyone thinks of Skynard as the best southern rock band. All I have to say those folks never sat down and listen to BOA.6 years ago
