i think if he uses 8 stacks he couldnt hear only his guitar n nothing else.when i was on tour with maiden in 82,a.smith had 4 marshall stacks on stage but i could follow the shows from behind the stage,on stage and what isaw was alittle combo amp (dont remember the name)well hidden behind acurtain.its part of a metal show almost every band does it its like showing muscles .not to mention.what counts is the sound and it is great.
