B.J. Thomas - Testimony

Album: In Concert (1980)

B.J. Thomas então começou a sua carreira solo. Foi quando conheceu sua esposa. Eles se casaram em dezembro de 1968, quando ele já era famoso cantando sucessos como The Eyes Of A New York Woman, Hooked on a Feeling, It's Only Love e a inesquecível Raindrops Keep Failling on My Head, música da trilha sonora do filme Butch Casssidy, composta por Burt Bacharach e Hal David. "Eu estava no lugar certo, na hora certa" afirma B.J. Thomas. "Essa é provavelmente a melhor música deles".

Nos anos 70, B.J gravou sucessos como I just Can't Help Believin' e Rock and Roll Lullaby.

This mans testimony on national TV helped to open my heart to the Lord and become saved shortly thereafter. I was also on drugs, insane, depressed, hopeless, out of my mind, but now 30 plus years later I am still alive, and still serving God and still full of hope. God used this man to help find me and get me saved, and I give testimony to that fact as fruit of the sincerity of his conversion and testimony. How sad the the poison of the Pharisees has to leave hateful comments like they did below. Why don't they just be quiet and let their hatred seethe within themselves as they live their own lives as shining examples of sinless perfection for everyone else to judge, full of obedience, love and grace....

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone. Having known BJ before he was saved and up till today, I know his testimony is true. If you don't know BJ Thomas personally, you don't know enough to stand in judgment. Besides that,..... your job is to love and leave the judging to Jesus Christ.

How moving. This is joy. This is truth. This is love and gratitude. This is reality. This is grace. Worthy is the Lamb!!! I am so grateful that Jesus heard my lowly voice in the middle of the night and accepted me into His house and gave me a permanent home with Him. It is the most wonderful this that can happen in anyone's life.

How sad that Jay has set himself up as the "righteous judge" of who is and who isn't saved. How easy it is to pick and choose scripture to "proof text" support for what we believe. Question: is every true believer suppose to become a preacher when they get saved? Jay, to follow your line of spiritual reasoning, a lawyer, doctor, mechanic, plummer, secretary, soldier, policeman, fireman, or any one else can be judged to be a true Christian unless they renounce their profession and become a preacher. What a shallow and shortsighted understanding of scripture and whom can be a Christian. Brother, you need to repent of your judgmental spirit.

I get so tired of listening to self righteous born again Christians. You don't give anyone a hand up you just keep pushing people down. Be careful how you judge others. If you make it to heaven you might be shocked to find that no one was expecting you. Only God can see into a human heart and know what is truly there.

For those pharisees who have concluded that BJ turned his back on the Lord...he has not. I read his comments when he decided to go back into the world...he said: "I am an entertainer who is a Christian, not a Christian entertainer". Jesus went into the world, the sinners, the prostitutes, and the tax collectors to tell them stories of faith to open their eyes. BJ is going into the world to tell stories of faith to people who would otherwise never enter a church. Jesus avoided the religious hypocrites who loved to segment themselves from society, for those who needed grace and forgiveness.

You are so very wrong with this information Rapier 0954. B J Thomas is a true Christian because he wouldn't still be here today at the great age of 71 yrs. old if he hadn't turned his life over to the Lord. Drugs would of killed him by now, plus he wrote a book about his salvation. Trust me, Jesus is not a phase you "go through".

When someone says they are saved that does not mean they cannot sing secular as well as Christian. What this world needs is LOVE SWEET LOVE! There are appropriate secular and junk.... Let's rejoice with the lost being found. :)

@jaymangoinup Who are you, jayman to judge BJ Thomas?!?! How dare you say he is FALSE!! BJ and his music have brought me closer to God. I don't think Mr. Thomas has to sing ONLY gospel music. His voice calms people and makes them feel better. SHAME on jayman!! You're the one that we need to pray for!
