No need to apologize since I don't believe you are correct. Helen did indeed play at her home theatre for this recording session but from all that I've read about Crosby, he was across town at his Brunswick recording studio singing to Helen's piped in music. The Hollywood studios would use this method from time to time during the making of their musicals when they would bypassed the playback system during filming and instead opt for a live sound by piping in an orchestra playing in another sound stage. Capra used this method during the filming of HERE COMES THE BRIDE (52) starring Crosby (He thought Bing had been getting lazy with his picture work and wanted to energize him with some new wrinkles).I just found it to be an interesting sidebar for a terrific recording.

The Brunswick studio in NY didn't have the space for a Hammond organ so Helen played her instrument across town at her theater and the technicians piped her sound into where Bing was singing and recording. They cut a couple of discs that day with this method. It's sort of an early post-production-type record."Dub in the organ!".
