On the back of the album Cover for: WHERE DO I BEGIN TO TELL A STORY; "part" of what was "written" about Billy Thunder_loud and the Chieftones? TWICE; ThunderKloud was MIS-SPELLED (c)! second paragraph; .....these beautiful people put out good vibrations. Their music reflects their strong heritage, simply with its feeling, but the amazing thing is they use modern, popular material to reflect their attitudes. When you listen to, "The Theme Love Story", think about Billy (proper spelling) ThunderKloud not only speaking about a love for a woman, but his love for mankind. "Where do I begin to tell a story", ...this is actually what he thinks. Their lives have been twisted and confused since childhood because of their race, yet they have managed to over come hate and hostility. They can still love. This album is filled with that deep feeling of goodness, warmth and compassion, for their people and all people. .Listen and feel the vibrations. This was written by; Mark Ellerbee a musician on the record. In the first paragraph Mark Ellerbee..........has fallen for the Same-OLE-Stereo-Type....."whites" have TAGGED onto ALL Native Americans since the Europeans, came here. He says; "He kept his self aware of the Indian's plight.....[where did he "learn" true facts about Native Americans/plights? There was NO Indian or Black History ever TAUGHT in WISC. schools/still isn't!] I EXPECTED THEY WOULD HAVE DEEP HOSTILITIES IN THEIR MUSIC.[yes, many part Native people were writing/recording Protest Songs in 1960's & 1970's]......I HAD TO GET MY HEAD TOGETHER TO PORTRAY THIS EXPECTED FEELING. TO MY SURPEISE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN THAT WAY. BECAUSE of the "way" the CHIEFTONES were raised [with religious instruction], THEY took Gospel or Religious songs and TIED them into Native American Chief(s), who are Hero's [gotten a Bad-Wrap in PRINT! NOW! Indian HISTORIES are being researched and re-written with a degree of TRUTH!] to ALL NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBES IN U.S. AND CANADA. That's why so many WISC. Fans I have "talked" to over the years have stated the Gospel and Native Hero's (Ira Hayes, Crazy Horse) put together IN THEIR SONGS are so MAGNIFICENTLY done........Fans who got to SEE and HEAR them LIVE in Concert.....have stated it was like having a RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE! :) :) Help me get all their songs on here.......we miss...them. Thank You WISC. Fan Crystal

I THOUGHT Elvis' version was THE BEST. When I sent to Australia for the Chieftones album; they SENT me a bunch of 45's also? This one was ONE and Elvis' MY WAY, was another. Elvis' is more Rock n' Roll style and I LOVE it....but I also LOVE Billy and Chieftones, version! To, me, everyone else BUTCHERS this BEA-U-TI-FUL song. :( Someone RECORD Billy's version of MY WAY! Thank You, WISC. Fan
