The first time I saw Billy Preston was on the "Motown Returns To The Apollo" show where he paid tribute to Otis Redding by singing "Try A Little Tenderness" That performance always stuck with me although I did not investigate his music further. It was not until I saw his Unsung episode that I began to take interest again. This man was and will always be a master music maker and I kick myself everyday for not discovering this sooner. People have said that I can make a piano talk.... well Billy must make Pianos and Organs scream then lol. RIP Mr. Preston.

He was great on all the keys, but on the B3, a true maestro

Apparantly John Lennon wanted him for The Beatles during the "get back" sessions. Paul said it was difficult agreeing with four never mind five
