PLEASE GIVE ME SOMETHING

(B. & J. Feli)

BILL ALLEN (IMPERIAL 5500, 1958)

Well, please give me something, to remember you by

Come on baby give me something, to remember you by

Just a little bit of something, so our love won't die

Say well, I'm going to my baby, tomorrow night

Say well, I'm going to my baby, tomorrow night

Well, we won't argue, and we won't fight

Aowh, please give me something, to remember you by

Come on baby give me something, to remember you by

Just a little bit of something, so our love won't die

Well, I'm going to my baby, tomorrow night

Say well, I'm going to my baby, tomorrow night

Well, we won't argue, and we won't fight

Aowh, please give me something, to remember you by

Come on baby give me something, to remember you by

Just a little bit of something, so our love won't die

Won't die, won't die, won't die, won't die.

I've been collecting 45s for decades. Came across this and was always blown away by what a good this song was. Surprising it isn't better known.

I'm Jim Snively, Bill Allen's brother. Just letting you know that Bill died a little over a year ago. He loved that you (all) were keeping his music alive. Thank you.

Rockin' the billy in 1958. So there was still hope for original Southern rock and roll. Have not heard this one for years so it is good to hear it again. Where I live in California, rock-a-billy in the clubs is quite popular. Commercial radio is missing the boat on this one. But not Youtube or you.

Sorry for your loss, Bill was a real inspiration to me clear back in Ellet H.S.. I went on to learn guitar, was a member of The Caps, and we recorded one of Bills songs on the White Star Label, "Who the Heck" That was in 1959. The records have been remade and are available at "Get Hip Records" on line from Pittsburgh. Bill was really special, loved to go hear him play around Akron. Sure will miss him !

I'm working on a painting of that famous pic of the three of them as we speak for my uncle's memorial party in St. Petersburg, FL this coming June. My grandma made those outfits. ;)
