Don't let him fool you.... Here is what is on my mind..... I have always tried to help and put in the right direction artist that I feel need or should be heard.... I've done it with no expectations but on one fruitful day I decided that I would offer my services of shopping an artist only if he understands there are NO guarantees and ONLY will I move forward with a management deal if I got a bite or an offer on the table never locking anyone up to a three plus contract, wasting possibilities and dreams and allowing them to sell themselves. A few years back I received a call from a well known DJ out of Jacksonville that said I needed to listen to a group of guys that were really good.... I said ok let me take a listen.... they were called at the time "Double Wide" after a few conversations with them and going back and forth with one so called Big Smo... (yes Big Smo) I got them a huge offer with VH! to do a Reality Tv show about Country Rappers.... well since I was a lil green in the Los Angeles field I asked a supposedly friend of my daughter by the name of Dan Nelson from JNelson Entertainment to help me out on managing the group. I introduced him to the Ish Entertainment production company that was on board and got us the deal with VH! it was all going forward til Big Smo started backing out all cause he did not want to work with the other guys of the group... (which in reality were the real talent of the group if you ask me) either way.... so as to save face with VH! we went with Big Smo only!!! but that wasn't the end of their conniving ways.... Dan Nelson (one who had nothing going for him other than some failed attempts with re-inventing Sister Sledge) was already on the move playing his dirty ways by trying to secretly shop him to other networks to eliminate Ish Entertainment and myself. Mind you all this time this Dan guy is thinking I am some dumb old lady that can't handle shit... so he kept writing me and telling me all that he was doing and how "WE" are gonna get this and that and whatever....well I saved a llllll those conversations, texts, emails and conversations... cause I just had a gut feeling! Now Big Smo who I consider an ungrateful POS not only screwed some good ole southern boys called Double Wide, he screwed the kindest caring people in the business. He now was where he wanted to be so he and Dan Nelson decided he was going to drop the big bomb... using all the work we had done with good faith and honest people, such as Ish Entertainment by selling it to another network...A&E. Now remember.... Neither one of them would be where they are right now had it not been for ME putting then where they are now. Funny thing is that when I approached Dan Nelson about him he was not interested so I was moving forward until he heard that I had an offer on the table and then he was "all about that bass."..lol My point for all this is.... be thankful and grateful to those that carved the path for you cause you never know how Karma will handle you... I did it with heart and faith and for the love of music but its people like them that make this business so dirty.... No worries Dan and Big Smo our paths will cross sooner than you think... There I got this off my chest.... share it, promote it do whatever you want with this cause I am at peace with what I have done and I can sleep at night — feeling accomplished.
