I don't fully understand why big Sean gets so much shit. Compared to most other rappers he's got good lyricism and can flow really well at times. Sure you can have criticism of him but the criticisms of other rappers seem to be less sharp in comparison even when they simply have one gimmicky aspect and are the opposite of well rounded (I.e. most newer rappers). A big Sean feature on a song may not get me that excited (although sometimes he surprises me) and I don't like swathes of his songs but I like enough of them in comparison to other rappers, who may have the odd sensationalist hit, that he seems more consistently good (sometimes standout) and therefore better overall.Anyway feel like he gets more shit than he deserves, almost like its an unfairly gained reputation ESPECIALLY in the context of the rap industry as it currently stands.
