wow! very thought provoking, maybe even more so 20yrs later on... and privately I think most of us have our own 'imperfect list'! I wonder what new things would be included if this piece were somehow remixed to include events and people that have happened since it was 1st written? Im not suggesting it should be rewritten, (or sampled by ke$ha etc) heaven forbid! Just wondering what would be different, if anything! -.-

My first exposure to this gem was on the opening of Morrissey's great concert DVD Who Put The M in Manchester? Love this music

Pete Wylie wrote this, Josie Jones recorded it, Pete got no credit for it so don't think they speak now.

@nemotheband Sorry, can't reply from StarvingRtist because I've lost the log-in details and can't work out how to recover them. Anyway, according to my 12" the List's culprits are 'Michael Clark (the dancer?) Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) Steven Petronio Colin Wallis and last as usual, but by no means least, Pete Wylie.' The music and production's Guthrie, I'd guess. Neither the sleeve or the record make any mention of the lady delivering the list.

@StarvingRtist Morrisey played this track at his gig. Morrisey was lead singer in The Smiths.

As much as I love Andy Weatherall, this here is definitely the best version.
