There's a book and CD about Brother Claude Ely entitled "Ain't No Grave: The Life & Legacy of Brother Claude Ely" that tells about his life, singing, and preaching. Check it out at the Brother Claude Ely website.

Betty Jean Robinson is a sweet child of God! I am part of the congregation of Gethsemane Church located Peridot, Arizona on the San Carlos Apache Reservation- San Carlos, Arizona and I really enjoyed Betty Jean when she was down here! She was down to earth. My daughter- Sarah Nicole Russell (who was handicap and in a wheelchair) got her picture with Betty Jean. My daughter went back to be with the Lord last year. Betty Jean reminds me of my grandmother(Happy Moses) who also went home!

I sure hope you mean that Rev. Claude Ely died in 1978. It is a little hard to tell if you mean he was born in 1922 and died in 1978 or if it is Betty Jean! When I looked at it I thought...how could it be from 1983 if she died in 1978....especially since I didn't think she was gone! LOL Okay..it is late at night!

Betty for sure sings good. I was given a sound trac for "When You Go Down" by Betty Jean Robinson and my wife and I was back and forth on who was gonna sing it and while we were arguing (playfully of course) our oldest boy, who was 8 at the time, (maybe 7) learned it and sang it ever since. lol
